High-quality power supplies ensure a long service life

Power supplies are designed to work optimally with other LIMENTE products. Every LIMENTE luminaire and LIMENTE SMART dimmer has been tested, and their compatibility has been verified already during the product design phase. In addition to compatibility, both the lifespan of individual components and the electricity supplied by the power source play an essential role in creating long-lasting LED lighting. That is why Limente pays special attention to power supplies and the components used in them.

A luminaire requires a power supply because it operates at a safe low voltage (12 V or 24 V). The mains voltage is 240 V, which is converted by the power supply into a suitable voltage for the luminaire. In some luminaires, the power supply is integrated inside the fixture, in which case the luminaire voltage is marked as 240 V.

LIMENTE power supplies are available for both 12 V and 24 V systems and in several different sizes depending on the required power output. The voltage and power of each luminaire are specified in the product information. Choose the correct voltage (12 V or 24 V) and add together the wattage of the luminaires. For example, the total power of four 6 W luminaires is 4 × 6 = 24 W, meaning a suitable power supply must provide at least 24 W. Using a dimmer increases the required power by approximately 10%. In this example, the total requirement would be 24 W + 2.4 W = 26.4 W, making a 30 W power supply the correct choice.
